Confederate Prison Memorial Services

Ladies and Gentlemen.

It was once again an honour and privilege. to serve with you. At the 11th annual Confederate Prison Symposium memorial services this year. Has it been 11 years? That we have been involved with these services.

Two additions added this year. One from us and one from the organizers.

Ours was the ability to have a friend. Tom Moore come along and play 'Taps' at both services.

The organizers commemorated the 100th anniversary. Of the dedication of the 'Maine' monument that is within the Salisbury National Cemetery.

  A wonderful Day of remembrance.

With the weather cooperating and our usual addition of the sound of railway trains. As a stark reminder of how the Union soldiers. Who became prisoners of war. Arrived in Salisbury.

I'm sure I speak not only for myself. But also for the 'Confederate prison Association'.

In thanking you for coming along and adding a little bit of colour and nostalgia to the occasion.

Hopefully we can do the same next year.
